A safety critical medical with a GMC-registered doctor, who completes your certificate at the van. A free retest is included if you need one. It's £120 when you book online.
Who needs a safety critical medical?
People in safety critical roles on site: plant operators, HS2 and construction site workers, scaffolders and ground workers. Your employer or the site will tell you if you need one.
Where can I have it?
At our Willenhall, West Bromwich and Edgbaston (Birmingham) vans. The other vans don't offer this medical, so pick one of those.
What should I bring?
Photo ID, any form your employer or site has given you, your glasses or contact lenses if you wear them, and a list of any medication.
Is it a safety critical medical certificate?
Yes. You leave with the completed certificate to give to your employer or site.
What if I don't pass?
The doctor records what they find, and your employer or site decides what that means for your role. If anything needs checking again, your retest is free.
Who does the medical?
A GMC-registered doctor. Our clinics are vans, so there's no GP appointment to wait for.
Is this the same as an HGV medical?
No. The safety critical medical is a separate examination for site work. If you also need a DVLA D4 for a lorry licence, book that separately.
